  • Dr. Tamsin Franklin

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Tamsin works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I am the owner and principal General Practitioner at Turn The Corner. I live in Northcote and am very proud of my team who all work hard to provide a high-quality personal service. I have experience in managing mental health issues, and bring an affirming and collaborative approach to maximising emotional as well as physical wellbeing. I am an advocate for reproductive choices. I insert and remove all long-active contraception options and am accredited to provide shared care of pregnancy. I am active and enjoy sports medicine, as well as taking a person-centred, non-shaming approach to weight loss and fitness improvement. If you ever have any concerns (or compliments) about the clinic, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via our wonderful Support team as I am always wanting to improve how we care for our community.

  • Dr. Robin Wong

    General Practitioner (he/him)

    Dr. Robin works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I am from the UK and moved to Australia in 2013. I trained at Kings College, London, and spent several years working in excellent hospitals, including Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, the John Radcliffe in Oxford and Papworth Cardiothoracic hospital. I obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, and undertook GP training in Oxford, where I also worked as a GP endoscopist for six years. I then relocated to my favourite city, Melbourne! I enjoy working collaboratively with patients. Special interests include cardiac, chest, gut, endocrine, mental health and paediatric medicine. I perform joint injections and am a PrEP prescriber. When not at work I spend far too much time rock climbing, a passion I share with my family.

  • Dr. Karen Freilich

    General Practitioner​ (she/her)

    Dr. Karen works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I consider myself a warm, friendly and non-judgmental clinician who is passionate about the breadth and depth of general practice. I am a proud provider of medical abortion, IUDs and Implanon, PrEP, sexual medicine therapy, and gender affirming healthcare. I hold a Masters of Reproductive and Sexual Health Research in London (LSHTM) and a Diploma of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (DRANZCOG). I am an enthusiastic medical educator, teaching sexual health at University of Melbourne and hosting a mnemonic-filled medical education podcast, ‘Humerus Hacks’. In 2022, I was awarded the RACGP Registrar of the Year Award. Outside of work, I spend time with my cat Mimi and making silly crafts, costumes and collages.

  • Dr. Ashleigh Keating

    General Practitioner​ (she/her)

    Dr. Ashleigh works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I love general practice! My favourite part is the ongoing care of my patients, their families and the community. I find my work such a privilege as I get the rare opportunity where I am entrusted to help people with their health and wellbeing. My special interests include; working with children and their families, women’s health (family planning, pregnancy, Peri/Menopause) and mental health. I am also passionate about preventative medicine, nutrition and holistic care (allied health, meditation, yoga, etc). When not at work, I love spending time with my family, being outdoors or at the beach, and travelling. I am also passionate about human and animal rights and the climate crisis.

  • Dr. Caitlin Glover

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Caitlin works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I graduated from Monash University and spent my internship and residency years at Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life and pride myself on providing holistic and thoughtful care for all my patients. I have special interests in dermatology, women’s and children’s health, general medicine and mental health after working extensively in these specialties in the hospital system. I hold a Diploma of Child Health, and am completing my lactation consultant qualification and my Possums accreditation to provide neuroprotective care in infancy. When not at work, you will find me looking after my three very active little kids, or snowboarding whenever I can!

  • Dr. Chance Pistoll

    General Practitioner​ (he/him)

    Dr. Chance works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I am an experienced GP and Clinical Senior Lecturer in General Practice at Melbourne Medical School. I hold a master’s in Public Health from the University of London and have completed the Macy Program for Educators at Harvard Medical School. I bring a friendly and informal approach to consultations and value developing partnerships that explore individualised solutions to health problems. I have special interests in preventive health, men’s health, sports and musculoskeletal injuries, and management of chronic health problems. I also perform skin examinations and minor surgical procedures, including skin lesion management. I enjoy cycling, scuba diving, and playing the banjo.

  • Dr. Stefan Panczak

    General Practitioner (he/him)

    Dr. Stefan works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I am an experienced GP who is passionate about holistic patient care. I graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2001 and hold a Diploma in Child Health from Westmead Hospital (Sydney). I moved to Melbourne after living and working in London for over 10 years where I gained a broad experience in many different areas of medicine.
    I have a special interest in adolescent and adult mental health, travel medicine, skin health, men’s health and healthy ageing. I am a PrEP prescriber. I perform Implanon insertion and removal, and minor skin procedures.
    Away from general practice I enjoy composing music, cycling and travelling with my family.

  • Dr. Davinder Nagah

    General Practitioner​ (he/him)

    Dr. Davinder works primarily in Northcote clinic, with occasional days in Brunswick clinic.

    I am a UK medical graduate and moved to Australia in 2013. I studied medicine at Imperial College, London and went on to gain experience in emergency medicine, geriatric medicine, ENT and orthopaedics, to name but a few specialities. I completed my training as a GP in 2009. I have special interests in chronic disease management, weight loss and preventative medicine. I believe great health outcomes are achieved through a compassionate and collaborative approach to care. Outside of work, I am happiest when camping, hiking or walking my dog.

  • Dr. Nathan Lay

    General Practitioner​ (he/him)

    Dr. Nathan works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I’m a low-carb (almost carnivore!) GP, and I’m passionate about helping you flourish and become the best version of yourself. I believe in adopting a holistic approach and leveraging lifestyle interventions to champion your overall health and wellbeing. My primary interest is longevity and healthspan, and I use lifestyle approaches such as fasting, low-carb, ketogenic, and carnivore diets to optimise your physical and metabolic health. Additionally, I’m trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you develop the tools and skills needed to tackle challenges and lean into discomfort.
    My interests include fermenting kombucha and playing strategy board games such as Terra Mystica.

    Dr. Holly works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2007. Having moved to Victoria, I worked as a junior doctor at Royal Melbourne Hospital, then undertook 2 years of surgical training through the Austin Hospital. After my first baby was born, I made the move into General Practice and have never looked back! I thoroughly enjoy the breadth and variety of presentations that general practice provides. I have a particular interest in women’s health and paediatrics. I love the continuity of care that community medicine provides and feel privileged to be able to walk with patients through their health journeys. Outside of work, I can be found cycling around the inner north or out in the garden.

  • Dr. Bilal Chaudary

    General Practitioner​ (he/him)

    Dr. Bilal works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I very much enjoy being a GP and have a focus on holistic and patient centred care. I studied and trained in Scotland, and am now a member of both RACGP and General Medical Council in the UK. I have a keen interest in Rheumatology, Psychiatry, and the management of back pain.

    I have a therapy dog, Bruno (a yellow Labrador) with me in the clinic who is super cute and friendly. I am a member of the LGBTIQ+ community and have a keen interest in managing health within the community as well as prescribing PrEP. In my free time I enjoy cooking and entertaining as well some cheeky Netflix time!

  • Dr. Shumaila Panhwar

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Shumaila works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I obtained my medical degree and GP Fellowship in Adelaide before moving back home to Melbourne in 2017. I strive towards comprehensive care for each of my patients, aiming for a healthy mind and healthy body. I enjoy all aspects of women’s health from adolescents to the elderly including mental health, sexual health, contraceptive choices, and menopause management. I insert and remove IUDs and Implanons, and perform iron infusions. I have an interest in allergy medicine including asthma, food allergies, eczema, and rhinitis (hayfever). When I’m not at work you can often find me in a playground or park enjoying an allergy-friendly ice cream with my kids.

  • Dr. Rowena Mortimer

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Rowena works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I enjoy working with all patients, from the young to the young-at-heart, and welcome people from all backgrounds. In particular, I love partnering with patients who take ownership of their own health. I provide pregnancy counselling, PrEP, gender affirming hormone therapy, menopause hormone therapy, contraceptive counselling, sexual health testing, skin checks and minor procedures, as well as chronic disease care.
    I trained locally and have worked further afield, but the Inner North is Home. I have been described as “that happy doctor” and often make bad jokes to my patients. When I am not working, I am usually walking the dogs, reading bad science fiction novels, or pottering in the garden.

  • Dr. Timothy Chew

    Dr. Tim works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I am a General Practitioner who firmly believes primary care is the keystone to better health outcomes and am excited to partner with the Northcote community on this journey. I graduated from the University of Dundee in Scotland and completed my GP training in South Australia with a focus on rural GP Anaesthetics and also hold a Diploma in Child Health. I have experience with Implanons, basic skin excisions and providing support and counsel for those times when life feels too hard. Outside of work I am an avid photographer, book-hoarder and aspiring futurist.

    Dr. Bridie works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I love being a GP, providing comprehensive care in all areas of general practice. My approach is friendly, thorough and collaborative. Special interests include sexual health, preventative care, women’s health, chronic diseases and mental health, but all ages and issues are welcome. I provide shared antenatal care, early pregnancy counselling and management. I also provide sexual health checks, prescribe PrEP, insert and remove IUDs and Implanon, and perform minor skin procedures. I have worked at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and obtained a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology while at the Royal Women’s. Outside work, I love exploring nature with my family and catching the local gig scene.

    Dr. Barbara works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I enjoy the diversity of general practice and helping people to take an active role in managing their health. I like the idea of offering “cradle to grave” care and like to see people of all ages and walks of life. Having said that, I do have particular interest in aspects of women’s health, skin health and geriatrics. I speak Spanish fluently.

    Dr. Christopher works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I graduated from Manchester University in 2003 and completed post graduate training in Melbourne and the UK. I have a keen interest in all dermatological conditions. After gaining a Diploma in Dermatology with distinction, I worked in the Dermatology Department at Salford Royal Hospital in the UK for 7 years. Besides my passion for dermatology I am also interested in Men’s Health and Paediatrics. When not working, I enjoy travelling and spending time with my wife and three young children.

    Dr. Michelle works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I am an experienced GP with special interests in contraception and menstrual issues, fertility and pregnancy care, menopause, child health, management of chronic conditions, and healthy ageing. I hold a diploma of paediatrics and am a member of the Australasian Menopause Society. I am thrilled to be able to provide shared maternity care, as well as insert and remove Implanons and IUDs. Outside of work I love hanging out with my family, learning new things, and getting into the great outdoors.

    Dr. Ozge works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2014. I love working as a GP and getting to know my patients of all ages, and all different backgrounds over (hopefully) a long period of time. Some of my particular interests include mental health, women’s health, LBTQI+ health, paediatrics, iron infusions, contraceptive advice, reproductive health, and prescribing PrEP.

    I live in the Northern suburbs with my husband and toddler who is a ball of energy! Outside of work I love watching the footy, op shopping, reading, and drinking too much coffee. I am passionate about living as sustainably as possible to protect our environment and prevent climate catastrophe for future generations.

    Dr. Martina works primarily in Northcote clinic, with occasional days in Brunswick clinic.

    I completed my medical studies at the University of Melbourne and hold a Diploma in Child Health and Certificate in Women’s Health. In addition I have particular experience and interests in menopause management, adolescent health, chronic disease management, and ADHD management. I also perform skin checks and simple procedures. I will earnestly work together with you to understand the health concerns you are experiencing and support you through your health journey. I pride myself on having an open and neuroaffirming approach and a focus on preventive care. Outside work you will usually find me chasing my two young kids around the local parks, singing in the local choir, planning the next camping adventure or finding the next new hobby I will take up!

    Dr. Ambika works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I completed medical school at the University of Melbourne and graduated with Honours. I absolutely love working as a GP and helping my patients through their health journey. I have special interests in women’s health, sexual health and paediatrics, and have additional qualifications in these areas. I insert and remove Implanons, remove IUDs, perform iron infusions and am a PrEP prescriber. I also work as a Medical Educator with the RACGP and enjoy helping to train our future GPs. I live locally and spend my days off chasing my active toddler and speedy whippet around one of our beautiful local parks.

    I am a General Practitioner with two decades of healthcare experience. Committed to a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, I acknowledge the importance of inclusivity. As someone living in a larger body, I am attuned to weight stigma within medical settings. I also have expertise in Adolescent and Youth mental health. My medical experience and background also includes sexual health, contraception, LGBTQI+ health, Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy monitoring, and PrEP. Outside work, I enjoy gardening, sewing, quality time with friends, and camping adventures, embracing a holistic approach to well-being.

  • Dr. Kirstin Jennings

    General Practitioner​ (she/her)

    Dr. Kirstin works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I’ve worked as a GP for around 20 years and enjoy all aspects of general practice, with special interest in preventative care, paediatrics, sexual and women’s health, skin and minor procedures, aged care, chronic disease, and travel health. I hold a diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a certificate in Family Planning and Sexual Health. I now train upcoming GPs one day a week. I provide shared care and iron infusions, and am qualified at IUD and Implanon insertion and removals. I believe it is important to build relationships and empower patients for better outcomes in the treatment and prevention of disease. Outside of work, I enjoy active travel with my family as well as cooking, reading and trying to stay fit.

  • Dr. Nick Silberstein

    General Practitioner​ (he/him)

    Dr. Nick works primarily in Brunswick clinic, with occasional days in Northcote clinic.

    I have spent most of my medical life as a general practitioner in rural and city settings in several countries. I have specific training and experience in sexual and reproductive health, including contraception, the prevention, detection and management of sexually transmissible conditions and antenatal and postnatal shared care. I am also able to discuss options in early pregnancy.
    I prescribe HIV PrEP, and can fit and remove IUD and Implanon. I also have an interest in gender medicine and I am happy to discuss and implement hormone therapy. I am accredited to prescribe for HIV and Hepatitis B and have an association with the Alfred Hospital for this reason. I can advise on travel medicine and all aspects of immunisation.
    Having said all of that, everyone is welcome; true general practice means that whatever the problem, you can be seen.

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Kinga works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I have 20 years of experience in all aspects of General Practice and particular interests in women’s health, antenatal care, sexual health, weight management and preventive medicine. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and have a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by RANZCOG. Born in Poland, I am fluent in Polish.

  • Dr. Alison Sands

    General Practitioner (she/her)

    Dr. Alison works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I have over 20 years’ experience in General Practice and enjoy supporting patients to achieve wellbeing in all aspects of their life. My diverse range of interests include mental health, musculoskeletal pain, aged care, women’s health and travel health. I am qualified to insert Implanon contraceptives, remove IUDs, and to perform minor skin procedures. I have extra qualifications in Psychological therapy, Occupational Medicine and Antenatal Care (although I do not provide shared antenatal care I can support women during conception, pregnancy and post-natal care). I have broad cultural experience and speak a smattering of Japanese, French and Spanish. When not at work I love sitting outside reading a book with my cat on my lap, and walking and cycling with my partner.

  • Dr. Ella Ellwood-Shoesmith

    Dr. Ella works exclusively in Northcote clinic but is currently offering telehealth only.

    I am a locally-trained GP and love the continuity of care and variety of General Practice. I have worked in various hospitals in Melbourne and rural Victoria, including the Royal Children’s, and have also spent time in remote Aboriginal communities in the NT. I now enjoy caring for individuals and families at all ages and stages of life, and am thorough and warm in my approach. I have a particular interest in Women’s and Children’s Health. I hold additional training in sexual and reproductive health, am a shared care provider, insert and remove Implanons and IUDs, and provide pregnancy options counselling.

    Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family in the great outdoors, and my kids keep me constantly on my toes.

  • Dr. Elizabeth Walker

    Psychiatrist (she/her)

    Dr. Elizabeth works remotely via videohealth.

    I am a consultant psychiatrist with many years of experience across various clinical settings. I am passionate about assessment for Adult ADHD and bring a holistic, thorough approach to my work. With a focus on diagnostic clarity and formulation, my Adult ADHD assessments support patients and referrers towards a better understanding of the often-complex issues underpinning an individual’s unique experience. I provide clear advice around individualised treatment options with the goal of supporting safe effective treatment so that patients feel better, function better and get more out of life. I value respect and compassion and work in an inclusive and non-judgmental way. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family, friends and pets and immersing myself in a great novel.

  • Dr. Patrice Friars

    Clinical Psychologist (she/her)

    Dr. Patrice works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 20 years, the majority of which has been in private practice. I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and my research topic was assisting parents of children and adolescents with ADHD and other behavioural disorders. I am a LGBTQIA+ aware and affirmative clinician. My aim is to create a calm, non-judgemental and respectful space, where understanding develops over time. I like to work as a team, where my client is the expert in their own life and has valuable insights and contributions to make. I use a number of different types of therapies, including CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. In my spare time I enjoy all that Melbourne has to offer in terms of food, art, music and nature.

  • Georgia Rodney

    Psychologist (she/her)

    Georgia works exclusively in Northcote clinic.

    I am a registered psychologist with over 13 years’ experience working with adults in a range of settings, including community and inpatient facilities. I foster a dynamic and interactive approach to helping people through life transitions and challenges to meet their personal goals. I enjoy providing support with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, addiction, emotional distress and trauma. I use a range of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness. In my spare time I love travel, food and art.

  • Sarah Anderson

    Senior Nurse (she/her)

    I moved to Melbourne in 2006 after completing my Nursing Degree in Tasmania in 2004. I have 10+ years’ experience in hospital and surgical nursing, followed by many years in orthopaedics. I am passionate about musculoskeletal health and joint preservation, as well as healthy lifestyle choices through food, nutrition and active exercise. When not at work I enjoy pilates, painting, or just relaxing with my puppy.

  • Nathan Angel

    Practice Nurse (he/him)

    I am a Registered Nurse with multiple years of experience in both the primary care and hospital settings. I moved here in 2023 with my long-term girlfriend, and we enjoy exploring Melbourne and all the great coffee and food on offer. I enjoy working holistically with patients from different walks of life and backgrounds in a patient-centred manner to achieve their health goals. Outside of work I enjoy playing music, learning aviation and cooking with my partner.

  • Shaminder Kaur

    Practice Nurse (she/her)

    Born in India, I studied Nursing at the University of Wollongong and obtained my registration in 2018. Since then I have worked mostly in a primary care setting. I am a very calm, passionate, and empathetic person, especially when it comes to patient care. I am always looking for great opportunities to improve and grow myself professionally and personally. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and being with my family.

    I have six years of combined experience as a registered nurse in hospital and general practice settings. I practiced overseas prior to attending Deakin University in Geelong, and obtaining AHPRA registration in 2018. I consider patient centricity, integrity, efficiency, and respect for people as critical work ethos, complemented with an empathetic and cheerful disposition. I find my work-life balance by spending quality, free time with my family.
