Everyone you will meet at Turn The Corner Medical Clinic is qualified, experienced, and passionate about helping our clients be the healthiest that they can be.
I am the owner and principal General Practitioner at Turn The Corner. I live in Northcote and am very proud of my team who all work hard to provide a high-quality personal service. Managing aging to enable people to remain independent, engaged with life and emotionally content is important to me as a doctor and I have built a strong network of allied health practitioners and specialists that I can access to help provide for those with complex care needs. In less esoteric terms, I have extensive experience in managing mental health issues, I am an advocate for women in terms of our reproductive choices, and as such can insert IUD devices as well as manage shared care of pregnancy. I have always been active myself and enjoy sports medicine, as well as weight loss and fitness improvement.
I have 20 years of experience in all aspects of General Practice and particular interests in women’s health, antenatal care, sexual health, weight management and preventive medicine. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and have a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by RANZCOG.
I am a University of Melbourne medical graduate and an Australian trained GP. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and taking a holistic approach to health. I have a special interest in women’s health and sexual health medicine. I have completed extra certification in these areas through RANZCOG and Family Planning Australia. Discussions regarding pregnancy care, pregnancy choices, contraceptive choices and reproductive health are my areas of interest. I insert and remove Implanons, and remove IUD devices. I am a PrEP prescriber. When not at work, you can find me on long walks with my dog and enjoying the outdoors.
I am passionate about all aspects of general practice with particular interest in mental health, sexual and reproductive health (including LGBTQIA health and being a PrEP prescriber), chronic disease management and dermatology. I am qualified to perform minor procedures including skin biopsies, iron infusions and Implanon insertions. I completed my medical degree at the University of Adelaide and am a member of the RACGP.
I believe in quality, comprehensive, holistic care, and offer that in health partnerships with my patients. Whilst I enjoy caring for all patients, my special interests are preventative medicine, women’s health, paediatric and adolescent health, and weight management. I attained RACGP fellowship in 2004, being awarded the certificate of excellence. I strongly believe in maintaining up-to-date knowledge through regular further education. I have two children and two goldadors, and enjoy time with family and best friends, reading, cooking, travelling, and running.
I was born and raised in Sydney and recently relocated to Melbourne with my partner and our beautiful Groodle dog. I completed my undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2012. I commenced my rural GP training in 2015, focussing on my core specialities of Sexual Health and Indigenous medicine, and completing a National Certificate of Reproductive and Sexual Health. My areas of special interest include men’s health, sexual health, paediatrics and indigenous health.
I am a fully qualified Australian GP who enjoys all aspects of General Practice and strives to provide great healthcare for all your health needs. I have specialist training in women’s health and can provide contraceptive advice, cervical screening, Implanon insertion/removal and discuss pregnancy planning and early management. Additionally, I enjoy caring for new mums, providing breastfeeding advice and discussing sleep and settling techniques. I am also able to address any concerns you may have regarding the growth, development or behaviour of your children. I enjoy all aspects of caring for babies, children and adolescents and have completed a Diploma in Child Health. I am particularly passionate about caring for the mental well-being of my patients and have extra training in mental health counselling and caring for patients with concerns including anxiety, depression and autism spectrum disorders.
I have worked as a GP for 25 years. I enjoy the diversity of general practice and helping people to take an active role in managing their health. I have experience particularly in the fields of women’s health, geriatrics and minor surgery. Being of Spanish background, I am fluent in Spanish.
I have 20 years experience in General Practice and embrace a diverse range of interests including aged care, women’s health, chronic pain, mental health, paediatrics and travel health. I am qualified to insert Implanon contraceptives and to perform minor skin procedures.
Sadly Dr. Julia has left us to move inter-state with her family. In the short-term, she is still offering private telehealth appointments, bookable online. All of us at Turn The Corner wish her well, and thank her for being part of the team over the last few years.
I moved to Melbourne from New Zealand at the beginning of 2020 and was fortunate enough to become a member of the Turn The Corner family. Back in New Zealand I worked as a Practice Nurse for 2 years receiving ongoing training for cervical screening and childhood immunisations. I am passionate about all areas of general practice with a focus around preventive care.
I have a background in youth work and pastoral care, and am passionate about social justice. My role at Turn The Corner is largely about ensuring the Clinic’s operations run smoothly and efficiently for our clients, and also for our team of Doctors, Nurses, and support staff. Outside of work, my time is spent on the rugby field, and around the table playing Dungeons & Dragons. I look forward to meeting you at Turn The Corner.
