Everyone you will meet at Turn The Corner Medical Clinic is qualified, experienced, and passionate about helping our clients be the healthiest that they can be.
I am the owner and principal General Practitioner at Turn The Corner. I live in Northcote and am very proud of my team who all work hard to provide a high-quality personal service. Managing aging to enable people to remain independent, engaged with life and emotionally content is important to me as a doctor and I have built a strong network of allied health practitioners and specialists that I can access to help provide for those with complex care needs. In less esoteric terms, I have extensive experience in managing mental health issues, I am an advocate for women in terms of our reproductive choices, and as such can insert IUD devices as well as manage shared care of pregnancy. I have always been active myself and enjoy sports medicine, as well as weight loss and fitness improvement.
I have 20 years of experience in all aspects of General Practice and particular interests in women’s health, antenatal care, sexual health, weight management and preventive medicine. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and have a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by RANZCOG.
I am passionate about all aspects of general practice with particular interest in mental health, sexual and reproductive health (including LGBTQIA health and being a PrEP prescriber), chronic disease management and dermatology. I am qualified to perform minor procedures including skin biopsies, iron infusions and Implanon insertions. I completed my medical degree at the University of Adelaide and am a member of the RACGP.
I am a fully qualified Australian GP who enjoys all aspects of General Practice and strives to provide great healthcare for all your health needs. I have specialist training in women’s health and can provide contraceptive advice, cervical screening, Implanon insertion/removal and discuss pregnancy planning and early management. Additionally, I enjoy caring for new mums, providing breastfeeding advice and discussing sleep and settling techniques. I am also able to address any concerns you may have regarding the growth, development or behaviour of your children. I enjoy all aspects of caring for babies, children and adolescents and have completed a Diploma in Child Health. I am particularly passionate about caring for the mental well-being of my patients and have extra training in mental health counselling and caring for patients with concerns including anxiety, depression and autism spectrum disorders.
I believe in quality, comprehensive, holistic care, and offer that in health partnerships with my patients. Whilst I enjoy caring for all patients, my special interests are preventative medicine, women’s health, paediatric and adolescent health, and weight management. I attained RACGP fellowship in 2004, being awarded the certificate of excellence. I strongly believe in maintaining up-to-date knowledge through regular further education. I have two children and two goldadors, and enjoy time with family and best friends, reading, cooking, travelling, and running.
