Immunisation Clinic

Are you and your loved ones protected?

As we head into winter, we are running dedicated Immunisation Clinics at certain times of the week, out of hours, so that you can ensure you are up-to-date and as well protected as possible. At these clinics we will offer immunisations for Influenza (flu), as well as Pneumococcal Pneumonia, Haemophilus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid, Meningitis A, B, C, Y and W, Yellow Fever, Polio, and Rotavirus, as required.

Influenza (flu) is a very contagious infection of the airways. It is especially serious for babies, people over 65 years of age and pregnant women. Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect you from serious disease caused by influenza. By getting vaccinated against influenza, you can also help protect other people that you come into contact with, especially people who are too sick or too young to be vaccinated. The more people who are vaccinated in our community, the less likely the disease will spread. You should get a flu vaccine every year.

Should you wish to get a flu vaccine at one of our dedicated Immunisation Clinics, please phone our friendly Reception team on 1300 557 502 to make your appointment. Because these will be shorter appointments, your out-of-pocket will be only a $25 fee^ for the flu vaccine (^if you are eligible to get the influenza vaccine under the National Immunisation Program, there will be no out-of-pocket at all). If you wish to bring other family members with you, they will each need their own appointment so please tell us at the time of making the booking.

Finally, if you wish to discuss non-immunisation related issues with the Doctor, or have a needle-phobic child, please make a standard appointment online instead to ensure you have sufficient time. Conversely, you can of course still have a flu vaccine, or other immunisation, as part of a standard 15- or 30- minute appointment. Standard consultation fees would apply in addition to fees for any vaccines given.
